Da Wikipedia << La città di Arona è situata sulla sponda piemontese del lago Maggiore ed è attraversata dal torrente Vevera, che qui sfocia nel lago. All'intorno si estendono i bassi rilievi collinari di origine morenica (chiamati "motti"), inglobati nel Parco naturale dei Lagoni di Mercurago dove, nel 1860, venne individuato il primo insediamento palafitticolo rinvenuto in Italia. Anche la maggior parte del territorio comunale è di tipo collinare, con altitudini che vanno progressivamente degradando da nord verso sud (e da ovest verso est nel centro abitato) dai 513 m di Motto Mirabelo (presso la frazione Dagnente) fino ai 195 m in riva al lago. >>

From Wikipedia << Arona (Aruna [aˈruna] in Western Lombard) is a town and comune on Lake Maggiore, in the province of Novara (northern Italy). Its main economic activity is tourism, especially from Milan, France and Germany.Archaeological findings have shown that the area of what today is Arona was settled from the 18th-13th centuries BC. Later it was a possession of the Celts, the Romans and the Lombards. In the 11th century the Benedictine abbey of Saints Gratianus and Felinus, Martyrs, was founded. After the siege and destruction of Milan in 1162 by Emperor Frederick Barbarossa, many of the exiled took refuge in Arona. Later the city was a possession of the Torriani and (from 1277) of the Visconti families. In the early 14th century the city became a free commune under the suzerainty of the abbey. In 1439 it was acquired by Vitaliano Borromeo and, as a result, the House of Borromeo. >>

1.5 ore in treno da centrale a Verona, 160 KM >> 1.5 ore in treno da Verona a Trento, 100 KM >> Un' ora e mezzo di aspettando per un pullamn che non arriva al posto che desideravo. Invece sono arrivata ad un' altro piccolo paese. In questo piccolo paese, che si chiama Egna 1 notte in un' albergo >> Dopo c'era il Pullman da Egna a Penia, 3 ore, 66 KM. Dopo c'e' la foresta >> Un sentiero di circa 7 KM, Un' po' di neve e' rimasto per terra >> Vista sembra un' po' blu >>

1.5 hours in train from Milano Centrale to Verona, 160 KM >> 1.5 hours in train from Verona to Trento, 100 KM >> One and a half hours of waiting for a bus that will not reach the place I was heading. Instead I had arrived to a small town in the nama of Egna. There, one night in a small hotel >> From Egna by bus to Penia, 3 hours, 66 KM >> After the bus there was the forest. A walking path of about 7 KM, some snow on the grownd. the view seemed a little bluish.
